Like my route into Hereford, my route into in Worcester illustrates a common problem for a rider coming into town. Many towns are sited next to rivers. They grew up because of waterborne trade and because they were at a good ford or bridge point. As a result the roads converge on the few bridges. At Worcester until recently that was one bridge. so there is no getting around riding a stretch on a busy road. Luckily busy roads frequently means relatively slow moving traffic! If you look at the map you will also see that a considerable amount of the ride from Hereford is actually off-road which is great.
