75 miles, which might go up a little when I have found accommodation just east of Worcester and see how far off my route it is.

I am not taking the most direct route on this section but will cross the Vale of Evesham through places I know. I will come through Evesham and visit Bretforton and The Little Soap Company which is sponsoring me. Then from Mickelton I will have a day on the route I rode up to visit my mother at Easter 2005. It will be familiar and a lot of it is off-road which is good, though I recall one very muddy field which had been ploughed right up to the edge, over the line of the bridleway, and I had visions of shoes being sucked off or, worse, a strained tendon. Before I go into Coventry I will visit to the British Horse Society head office. Their digital mapping will be a huge help in planning the ride and their Access Department works endlessly to maintain and develop the off-road routes riders and cyclists need on bridleways and byways.
Next section: Coventry to Lichfield.
